Skills & Drills training

Who is it for?

The Skills & Drills training is aimed at those who have already a sailing license and know how to sail but would like to refresh some of the less practiced drills and learn new tricks.

Skills & Drills training – Minimum requirements

A valid international sailing license (RYA Day Skipper or above)

And if you just need a book to start studying ahead of the course or refresh your knowledge, you can visit our SHOP and purchase a few items there.

What do you get?

The Skills & Drills training week builds on your existing sailing knowledge and helps you to refine and enrich your skills. Whether it is practicing maneuvres under sail, flying under a 130m2 Gennaker, or experiencing heavy weather with a storm jib and 3 reefs, the week will be covering a number of topics that are not necessarily included in the classic sailing courses and which you may not be practicing when leisurely sailing with your family or friends.

Our Instructors have years of experience as Instructors, Skippers, or Regatta sailors. And with a maximum of 6 participants, there will be plenty of time for you to practice and improve.

Skills and Drills training – Program

Please note that the actual program can vary depending on weather conditions and participants’ skills. The list below is intended as a ‘Menu’ of drills that we will aim to perform during the week:

  • Anchor under sail
  • Pick up and sail off of a buoy under sail
  • Blind navigation
  • Man-Over-Board under sail – different techniques

  • Storm jib sailing (heavy weather)
